Enterprise Business Intelligence (EBI) is a multidisciplinary group that owns the lifecycle of data to support cable goals. EBI consists of data engineers who democratize data, visualization experts who build reports, and data analytics subject matter experts that turn data into insights for the business. The Data Science team within EBI builds the end-to-end systems and tools that democratizes machine learning to meet the needs of business by partnering with key internal and external stakeholders. Job Summary The Data Scientist is responsible for supporting data science projects from idea generation, stakeholder management, modeling and deployment. A Data Scientist is expected to be a trusted partner to the business and create models with actionable results. Who does the data scientist work with? The data science team is composed of experts in AI, deep learning, data-structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and system performance and analysis. Data Scientists work with internal EBI teams as well as leads in the marketing, base management, customer experience, network engineering and finance departments. What are some interesting problems the data scientist will solve? Data Scientists in EBI work on a wide variety of interesting business questions from subscriber and prospect propensity models, customer segmentation, and real-time decisioning. Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Own all or part of the data science solution process:
- Resourcing – Work with the Project Management Organization to clearly define project timelines and resources. Manage timelines, identify implications and impacts to leadership.
- Feature Selection – Partner with EBI Data Stewardship team to define proper data sources for feature selection. Engage the engineering teams to ingest new datasets that are useful for modeling.
- Solution Development – Use expert knowledge of data science and machine learning to create the best method to solve the business problem. Fit an accurate and actionable solution. Ability to simplify the data science story.
- Validation – Validate the solution and defend that solution in front of your peers. Explain model validation to a non-technical audience.
- UAT Testing – Work with the Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) team and stakeholders to perform user acceptance testing of the model. Help determine if the data science solution is solving the business problem.
- Deployment and Feedback Loop – Work with MLOps team to set up deployment, DQ and monitoring of solutions.
