About the role:

We are looking for a Sr. Director, Data Science & AnalyticsAnalytics and Data Science to lead these functions into an exciting new chapter of company growth. This person will manage a team of data scientists and data analysts, scale our operating model, mature how we perform analyses, and overall help spread data literacy at Hinge Health. We are looking for a “player-coach” who both gets their hands dirty and has a track record of being a trusted partner aiding the company's biggest decisions. In addition, you’ll be working closely with both our data engineering team on infrastructure strategy and our AI/ML team on cross-functional initiatives.



    • Establish a team structure and mechanisms that ensure your team has a seat at the table for strategic product and business decisions 
    • Help us hit our analyst hiring goals to keep up with rapid company growth
    • Consistently mature the rigor of our analyses, processes, and tools, so that our output is timely, trusted, and reliable
    • Increase self-service to insights via a combination of tools, dashboards, analysis templates, and education
    • Help your team hit their professional development goals


    • Vision: articulates a clear vision for the role and structure of the organization and how it can earn a seat at the table for business decision making. 
    • Cross-functional: fluent with all stakeholders across product, commercial, clinical, finance, and more.
    • Player-coach: enjoys getting their hands dirty and thrives in the “player-coach” model by hiring A players, coaching and guiding them, while at the same time diving deep to deliver key results if necessary
    • Learn-it-all: a strong background in business analytics, data science, or applied statistics
    • Technical: SQL mastery, fluency in Python and R (or other statistical analysis packages), and experience designing and analyzing hypothesis-driven experiments and multivariate tests
    • Knows enterprise data tool sets inside and out and could lead a purchasing decision
