The Role:

  • Senior technical contributor of a project based team within the Data and ML engineering org.
  • Drive the development of scalable data-powered APIs by setting up AWS resources using terraform, kubernetes, docker containers, and github actions
  • Leverage and improve our workflow orchestration toolset using technologies like DBT and Airflow
  • Build streaming data pipelines with Kafka to and from our application ecosystem. 
  • Lead development of internal application and analytics data models, while applying best practices for read and write performance, as well as scalability and availability 
  • Collaborate with PMs and engineering managers to set sprint plans and timelines
  • Mentor and train your colleagues in data, engineering and ML best practices
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues with platforms, including data discrepancies in BI tools Looker and Heap, leveraging your custom alerts and tooling in Datadog

Who you are:

  • Deep expertise working with data: Leadership and IC experience with EDA, feature engineering, model development, model deployment and validation in production systems.  
  • Experience with being the most senior engineer on a multidisciplinary team of engineers across backend, infra and data; as well as across onshore and offshore teams. 
  • Experience as an IC 0→1 implementer of cloud computing resources (preferably AWS), containerization (Docker and Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform)
  • Experience in data modeling, schema design, and sysadmin tasks in relational databases. 
  • Experience building workflow automation tooling and creating DAGs with sensors in Airflow 
  • Experienced in building and managing event-driven ETL pipelines and streaming services
  • Experience developing REST APIs that interface with robust and scalable microservices 
  • Manage releases and deployment, and work with QE and DevOps to automate testing.
  • Comfortable working in an agile development process—and changing the engineering roadmap.
  • Engineer with security and compliance as a foundation
