Our journey: Alexandre and Steve launched Qonto in July 2017. Since then, the team has earned the trust of more than 400,000 customers and opened offices in Paris, Berlin, Milan, and Barcelona. To achieve Qonto's ambitious goals, we created the Data team, responsible for overseeing data analysis, engineering, and science. In just two years, our data department has grown from 5 to 50 people, and we continue expanding!
⭐ Mission: Qonto is looking for a talented Machine Learning Engineer to join our Data Products team of 12, and create, deploy & train impactful machine learning models while being very close to our Risk & Fraud team!
🎯 As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will
Have a business impact: Participating in improving our product and fighting against fraud will have a key impact on Qonto's business and success
Partner with Key Stakeholders: Work closely with Risk, Financial Security (FS) & Anti-Money Laundering (AML) teams to control fraudulent and non-compliant transactions while limiting UX impact for legit customers. You will be able to put yourself in the shoes of our customers to draw the best feature possible for them
Help Qonto scale our models: We truly believe that we are only at the beginning of Qonto's journey in our Data Product team. We currently have around 10 models in production and we would like to expand further and improve their performance
And also working on transversal topics like creating a feature engineering platform to centralize our features and make them easily accessible, the aim is to be fully prepared to scale our team and make it easier to create new models

-Revamping our Lifecycle Risk Score (LRS), a powerful tool that aims to assess the risk of an organization being fraudulent during their life at Qonto and to bring these organizations to the attention of the Risk teams through our in-house alerting system.
-Improving our alert filtering system is a key component of our strategy to fight against money laundering by detecting and pushing the riskiest organizations at the appropriate time.
-Automating the matching of inbound transactions with generated invoices so that our clients get a clear view of their finances and prepare the work for their accountants.

Mindset: You naturally explore the data before building any model, you are proficient in feature engineering techniques to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets. Bonus : You are very interested in modeling competitions, and you take pride in setting the best scores.
User-focused and outcome-oriented: You want to solve high-impact business problems and deliver value to our users in production
Mastery: You are proficient with Python, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Tensorflow, or Pytorch. You care about the craft and champion high standards.
Outcome-oriented: You value simplicity and think impact first.
Software Engineering best practices: you document, version, and test your code systematically.
Communication: You appreciate the teamwork that data products typically require, and you have effective communication skills, to build alignment and articulate purpose.
