Brief Overview 
 
Senior Manager, Business Intelligence (BI) reports to the Director of BI and is responsible for designing, establishing a detailed plan and ultimately building out analytical and BI support for growth areas of Amwell. The successful candidate will lead a team of developers to deliver Self-Service and Augmented Analytics solutions by establishing operational objectives and work plans to execute on the vision, delegating portions of the plan to individual team members and managing to deadlines.  Additionally, the role will support the identification of growth and investment opportunities for business expansion. This will be actioned in collaboration with Executive Leadership, Operations Management, Sales and Marketing organizations and other stakeholders giving the role exposure to all of Amwell’s business areas.

This is a very exciting opportunity for an ambitious and innovative professional as we aim to move beyond the realm of traditional BI self-service and implement solutions that not only support our Data Analyst and Data Scientist community but embed the outputs from those functions into our day-to-day reporting and BI solutions.

 Core Responsibilities  

  • Partners with stakeholders to define and design self-service BI dashboards by understanding complex issues that might be differing and may or may not be related.
  • Ability to distill down complex and not always straightforward information to actionable insights for C-level stakeholders to drive action
  • Builds, maintains and continuously updates Business Intelligence solutions along with a team of BI Developers.
  • Driving adoption is a key responsibility of the role and will require innovative approaches beyond the traditional and an immersion into the business functions we are supporting.
  • Responsible to identify and deliver ROI on the impact of the BI solution and ad hoc analytics on the business.
  • Develops and maintain relationships and close understanding of the functional areas that the team supports.
  • Builds strong relationships with our data teams to ensure we have the right data in the best format for building our BI solutions.
  • Partners seamlessly with our Data Analyst and Data Science teams to ensure our BI Solutions are serving to enhance and augment our insight delivery and decision making.

 

Qualifications  

  • 7-10 years in a Business Intelligence role with proven experience of managing medium to large scale deployments of BI solutions.
  • 5+ years’ experience in managerial role.
  • Proficiency with BI tools such as PowerBI, Looker, Tableau, Domo.
  • Strong commercial acumen and able to facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive actionable and measurable results.
  • Demonstrated initiative at translating concepts and ideas into concrete deliverables.
  • Ability to manage to a specific budget / monitor costs/spend to ensure on-budget delivery
  • Working knowledge of corporate financial concepts and competitive dynamics.
  • Must have excellent communications skills – both oral and written – to derive the important and strategic requirements from the business – the ones that will drive growth.
  • The ability to adapt quickly to the evolving needs of a high-growth health technology business and create pragmatic and innovative solutions to complex business problems.
  • Excellent collaborative skills that ensure effective working with data teams, business teams and analysts within our wider BI team.
  • Project management experience
