What we are looking for…
AvantStay is looking for a (Senior) Revenue Data & Analytics Manager to lead our ongoing efforts for data collection, visualization, and analysis on our Revenue Management and Finance teams.  These efforts are key to enabling the optimizing of revenue and dynamic pricing practices, underwriting and other financial and analytical actions which are central to our continued success as we grow into new markets and increase the number of properties in our portfolio each month.

What you'll do...

    • Lead the data and analytics strategy and roadmap in collaboration with the Finance, Revenue Management, and other applicable teams.  
    • Produce analysis, insights, and recommendations from the data; lead analytical and data projects as needed.  
    • Produce robust dashboarding and reporting in Power BI and other potential tools in order to effectively drive the business. Optimize and improve existing revenue analytics dashboards.
    • Own project management execution regarding the data and analytics roadmap and any analytical or technical projects.  Collaborate with the business stakeholders to define the roadmap that will be optimal for the needs of the business.
    • Extract data effectively from databases and APIs using SQL and any other applicable methods.
    • Ensure data integrity, including working closely with IT, 3rd party providers, and others.  Work with IT and other teams on data governance standards as applicable.
    • Improve the setup and onboarding of applicable tools such as Power BI and others as needed.
    • Automate electronic distribution of ongoing daily/weekly dashboards to key stakeholders.  
    • Ensure that the data & analytical capabilities can scale to meet potential volumes, velocities, or variety of data.
    • Be an active participant and student of the business. Pursue a deep understanding of business functions and build relationships with applicable stakeholders to help advance data, dashboarding, and analytical needs. 
    • Maintain a curiosity, awareness and knowledge of new technologies, their possible advantages and applicable relevance to our business; initiate and learn new technologies and methodologies as appropriate.  
    • Work-cross functionally to enhance utilization of internal data.
    • Build, train, coach, and mentor direct reports.

What you'll bring...

    • Experience: 5+ years of relevant progressive experience in data visualization and analysis. 
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics or a related technical or analytical field or comparable work experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated expert proficiency in SQL and Power BI required.  Experience in other data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or similar are also helpful. 
    • Familiarity with statistical modeling practices in R, Python, or similar packages are a large bonus.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and demonstrated ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis.  Predictive modeling experience is a large bonus.
    • Solid working understanding of databases/data warehouses.
    • Experience working with revenue analytics is highly preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively define and resolve problems that balance multiple needs and interests in a fast-paced, high-growth company.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to present ideas, instructions and information effectively, both orally and in writing
    • You are a self-starter and have a bias for action. 
    • Comfortable with some level of uncertainty and unclarity and able to make recommendations to move forward.
    • Experience conveying and explaining analysis via presentations and/or dashboards to different levels and audiences to enable improved company decision making.
    • Experience and knowledge on at least one of the following industries is helpful but not required: real estate, travel, hospitality, hotels, tourism and the short-term and vacation rental market.
