In this highly hands-on individual contributor role, you’ll partner directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the company to identify, design and implement the best ways to instrument and transform our data to increase flexibility and repeatability of analysis. You’ll bring your expertise and in-depth knowledge of best practices to improve our current BI and Analytics infrastructure here at RoofStock. We are looking for an empathetic, humble, curious, and collaborative team member who is passionate to strengthen our foundational data capabilities and help graduate our analytics platform to the next level.

What You Will Do:

    • Work with business intelligence tools, model multidimensional datasets, and partner with Improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support

    • Translate business problems and objectives into requirements and trackable progress/performance metrics.

    • Improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support

    • Develop and maintain DBT data models using best practices including documentations, testing

    • Work hands-on with tools in our data stack including: Snowflake, DBT, Git

    • Prioritization, support, and maintenance of all BI deliverables (i.e., dashboards, models and reports)

    • Leverage knowledge and expertise in Operational processes to partner with data engineers, product managers and business stake holders to ensure high quality and reliable data is available for the analysts

    • Mentor a small team of BI/Analytics Engineers

    • Engage with stakeholders and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship

    • Proactively manage stakeholder expectations, manage escalations, and resolve issues in a timely manner

    • Understand the business as a whole and become the subject matter expert in identified key areas.

What You Bring With You:

    • 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence systems architecture, data warehousing technology stacks and report/analytics tools

    • Proven experience in cloud-based data warehousing, orchestration, and analytic solutions

    • 3 years of proven experience with DBT is a must

    • 5 years of proven experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Sigma, Looker, Power BI.

    • Experience with building self-service analytics platform and data governance best practice is a strong plus.

    • Prior experience with software development best practices around code (version control using Git, testing, debugging, continuous integration and deployment, clear comments in code), especially implementing such practices in organizations.

    • Excellent analytical abilities, outstanding business acumen and judgment, strong technical foundation, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills

    • Self-starter with strong organizational skills, comfortable with ambiguity and enjoys working in a fast-paced dynamic environment

    • Adept in explaining complex technical architectures, designs, and other data issues clearly to non-technical folks and translating business problems into data solutions

    • Strong sense of ownership, natural curiosity, and investigative mindset

    • Nice-to-have: Experience in a Real Estate Industry is a strong plus
