This Senior Business Analyst role lives within the customer engagement arm of the Granicus’ Short-Term Rental Services (STRS) Implementation Team and is a key member of the Implementation Services (IS) team. This team helps customers (government agencies) create valued online services, and partners with customers to enhance the way that government organizations support their communities through strategic experience management.
 
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will bridge the gap between our government clients' business needs and the technical capabilities of our STRS software platform. Leveraging your 5+ years of experience, along with your advanced SQL skills, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including government stakeholders, software developers, project managers, and quality assurance professionals. Your role will involve gathering, analyzing, documenting, and communicating requirements, utilizing advanced SQL queries, to drive the successful delivery of STRS software solutions within the unique context of government processes. Your insights and expertise will be instrumental in optimizing government workflows, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring client satisfaction.

What your impact will look like here:

    • Work closely with government clients and stakeholders to understand their specific processes, objectives, and challenges.
    • Elicit, document, and prioritize clear and actionable requirements for STRS software implementations and enhancements within the gov tech sector.
    • Utilize advanced SQL querying to analyze data and gain insights into government processes, aiding in requirements identification.
    • Analyze and map current and future government processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
    • Create detailed business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specifications, use cases, user stories, and process flow diagrams tailored to government agencies.
    • Ensure that requirements are comprehensive, well-structured, and aligned with both government expectations and software capabilities.
    • Facilitate effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring a shared understanding of requirements within the gov tech context.
    • Coordinate with software developers, project managers, and QA teams to accurately translate government business requirements into STRS software features.
    • Participate in the testing and validation of software solutions for government agencies to ensure alignment with defined requirements and quality standards.
    • Collaborate with QA teams to develop and execute test plans, ensuring comprehensive coverage of government-specific scenarios.
    • Identify opportunities for software enhancements and process improvements based on government user feedback and evolving needs.

You will love this job if you have:

    • Proven experience of 5 years+ as a Business Analyst, preferably working with enterprise solutions within the gov tech sector.
    • Strong understanding of business process analysis, requirements gathering, and documentation within government contexts.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with government clients, developers, and project teams.
    • Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and project management concepts.
    • Advanced proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries and analyze data effectively.
    • Proficiency in using requirement management tools and software documentation platforms.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
    • Ability to manage conflict and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
    • Proactive and data-driven
