As an Associate Data Analyst you will help optimize how members utilize the health system and how we understand our internal operations and external customers. You will ultimately make health plans more efficient, identify gaps in member care, and help make the health system better for everyone. You will develop and maintain Pharmacy Benefits Management analytics for internal and external clients. You will support our Prior Authorization lines of business. With your analytics and reporting modules, you will bring disparate data to life by providing insights and finding gaps in operations, care and data to make lives better for our members. Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for the business and clients
- Communicate analysis and interpretation to appropriate audiences
- Produce, publish and distribute scheduled and ad-hoc client and operational reports/dashboards/analyses relating to the OptumRx Prior Authorization processes and performance
- Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and 1+ years of experience with Data Analysis
- Or 5+ years of experience with Data Analysis
- Intermediate level of proficiency with analytics and business intelligence tools
- 1+ years of experience writing code using SQL or Python
- If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas, In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare Experience
- Familiarity with MS Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI, Tableau or other Reporting Tools
- Experience with healthcare data
