The Optum Tech Hub Automation Platform team is looking for a AI/ML engineer-practitioner with a strong AI/ML and data engineering background who wants to join Tech Hub Revolution. We are redefining the way software engineers at Optum interact with Private and Public Cloud infrastructure and services. You will be part Tech Hub Insights & Analytics team a fast-paced and innovative group of full stack data engineers and scientists providing data insights, analytics and personalization services to enable smart Automation Platform experiences.
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer you will be a key contributor in evolving Tech Hub Insights technical platform, developing data integrations and services, AI/ML powered recommendation services and NLP search. This is a full stack engineer role working in a product development team. The ideal candidate while focusing on AI/ML engineering tasks should be able to participate in all aspects of Tech Hub Insights product development activities especially in areas of data integrations, data ingestion and data mining.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead end to end implementation of AI/ML powered Tech Hub Insights product features
- Conduct hands-on data analysis and predictive analytics, implement Tech Hub Insights data analytics features
- Work alongside other ML Engineers and Data Engineers on various data acquisition, data preparation, ML model management and other ML engineering tasks
- Assist with building scalable, fault-tolerant batch and real-time data ingestion pipelines, data transformation and data mining jobs on as needed basis
- Support Tech Hub Automation Platform innovation by identifying and driving new AI/ML based product features
- Help set technical direction and provide guidance and coaching to junior data scientists and data analysts.
- Own or assist with incident and problem management
- Collaborate with the rest of the agile team at daily stand ups and other agile product development practices

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience with professional software development using with demonstrated progression and positive career growth (Python, Java, Scala, or Ruby)
- 3+ years of professional experience developing analytics with machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and/or other related modeling techniques
- Experience applying computational algorithms and statistical methods to structured and unstructured data
- Familiarity with data engineering, building and using data pipelines, APIs, and integrations
- Aptitude for learning and be a great team player

Preferred Qualifications:
- BS degree in data science or computer science or similar field
- Working knowledge of ELK stack
- Working knowledge of data streaming using Kafka
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or Openshift
- Experience with Neo4j, Tigergraph or other graph databases, and graph algorithms
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases
- Experience with data modeling, data schemas
