Current Role & Growth Opportunity:

The Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer will work closely with the engineers and architects to build and maintain the high volume data systems for large scale, high performance, and rock-solid reliability. This is a hands-on position that will require performing system design and development activities for the exciting and dynamic medical fields.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing and creating systems for transforming data from disparate sources for Business Intelligence and Analytics.
  • Responsible for designing and creating systems that leverage BI and analytics.
  • Work with implementation consultants and Sr. engineers in analyzing business requirements.
  • Work with engineering and product teams distributed across multiple locations.
  • Effectively document and communicate results.
  • Stay up to date on current trends in data analytics and healthcare.
  • Continuously improving processes and establishing best practices around development standards, version control, quality control, deployment, maintenance and change management.
  • Other duties as required by business conditions or as assigned.

Essential Education, Experience and Interests:

  • 5+ years of technical experience working in data engineering and analytics space
  • Preferred to have person with experience of MPP architecture DB’s (Vertica, Redshift etc)
  • Strong technical leadership skills and willing to mentor junior members.
  • Strong track-record of successfully building robust systems through full lifecycle following repeatable, reliable and measurable processes.
  • Good understanding of healthcare technology and industry and able to make decisions on the best technology for MedeAnalytics solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal (both oral and written) communication skills combined with a successful history of working with different cultures and directly with clients.
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated and quick-learner.
  • Must possess knowledge and experience with column-oriented databases, SSRS, OLAP, ROLAP, MDX, IIS, MS SQL Server
  • Experience in Data Migration between different databases
  • Proficient in ETL and hands-on experience with one of the ETL tools (like SSIS, Kettle or Talend).
  • Must be able to construct and troubleshoot very complex queries and handling huge volumes of the data (Data transfer, import/export, storage, performance and security).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Good interpersonal (both oral and written) communication skills.
  • Technical degree (Bachelors of Science, Computer Science, BioInformatics or equivalent) or advanced degree (MS) is preferred- or equivalent work experience.
