POSITION OVERVIEW

 The Business Intelligence Developer will be a strategic resource on the Business Intelligence team within Signify Health. We are looking for a talented BI developer who is versatile and creative, and who can be an integral part of a small tight team that will build next-generation analytics that supports Signify and its partners. This role not only requires the ability to design prescriptive reporting solutions but also be hands-on in the database/backend data source to pull data using SQL to verify and test the visualizations. The Business Intelligence Developer will Design, implement, and maintain Dashboards, visualizations, and supporting data analysis layers. Additionally, he/she will design and develop visualization solutions against data warehouses, data marts, and cubes. This position will coordinate with other team members and managers to translate business needs into technical solutions and provide technical assistance to users pulling data from our self-service environment. The Business Intelligence Developer will troubleshoot issues in cubes and database objects (procedures – as they relate to surfacing data) to identify and solve problems with data accuracy and performance. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Licensing Requirements:

● High School Diploma or equivalent.

● Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field or equivalent experience.

● Master’s degree in a computer-related field is a plus.

 

Experience Requirements:

● Minimum 5 years of experience in MS BI tools (SSRS, SSAS, Power BI)

● 5+ years of relevant experience in report development, data science, business analytics, business intelligence, or comparable data engineering role, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques, and technology

● Minimum of 2 years of experience in Power BI

● Knowledge of SQL to write complex, highly-optimized queries across large volumes of data

● Successful work experience in MS SQL programming, database design, data warehouse design, query performance tuning, and writing stored procedures.

● Knowledge of ETL and data warehouse concepts and processes

● Experience with Power BI or an equivalent reporting tool to create impactful reports, visualizations, and interactive dashboards

● Understanding of data models

● Creativity to determine the best solution for a real-world problem with quantitative data

● Experience supporting a multi-database environment.

● Excellent understanding of OLTP and OLAP systems.

● Knowledge of best practices and software development process

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

● Fluently speak, read, and write English.

● Good verbal and written communication skills.

● Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task.

● SQL programming, server integration, and reporting

● Curiosity and passion for data, visualization, and solving problems

● Creativity to determine the best solution for a real-world problem with quantitative data

● Experience with reporting, descriptive statistics, probability, and cleaning big datasets

● Willingness to question the validity, accuracy of data, and assumptions

● Enjoyment from collaborating with others in a team environment

● Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment

● Knowledge of medical data a plus
