This role will report to our Manager of Data Engineering

What will you do?

  • You will team up with business analysts, product owners, app engineering and managers to deliver/agile projects and design, develop, deploy, and maintain our codebase.
  • You will have the opportunity to design and execute vital efforts such as re-platforming our data services, delivering real-time streaming capabilities to our business applications.
  • Own complete solution across its entire life cycle
  • Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support data ingestion, transformation, and storage
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing robust data validation and cleansing processes
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies and tools in the data engineering space to improve efficiency and drive innovation
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in data engineering and recommend relevant strategies and technologies for adoption

 

We are looking for someone with:

  • An ideal candidate is intellectually curious, has a solution-oriented mindset, and enjoys learning new tools and techniques.
  • Experience in data software development, using data technologies such as Relational and NoSQL databases, open data formats, and programming languages such as Python, Scala, C#, and/or other frameworks, building data pipelines (ETL and ELT) with batch or streaming ingestion, loading and transforming data, and developing with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, and MapReduce.
  • Experience building the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • Strong background in SQL
  • Experience working with data warehousing stacks such as Snowflake, Data Lake, or similar
  • Demonstrated history of defining standards and best practices as well as mentoring junior developers
  • Ability to work independently as well as function as an integral part of a team, take initiative and contribute in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication)
  • Able to balance multiple projects concurrently and manage changes in scope along the way
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with vendors, business users, and executives, and the ability to communicate technical solutions in business terms
  • Azure certification, at the associate level (Solutions Architect or Developer), or specialty (Big Data) is a strong advantage
  • 6+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with architecture and design
  • 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience is preferred.

The base salary hiring range for this position is $100,000 to $170,000. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.
