Position description

The Data Runtime Services Unit within the AI Factory Services Section is seeking a highly motivated, experienced IT Technical Specialist I / Cloud AI Engineer to join the team. In this role you will design, implement, and optimize Mayo Clinic's model hosting infrastructure and MLOps processes to establish core technical capabilities supporting our diverse customer base and provide leadership in solving complex technical challenges. We have a highly collaborative environment and are looking for a motivated professional who is passionate about delivering quality solutions for Mayo Clinic's AI initiatives. Individuals with a strong affinity towards AI/ML with demonstrated skill implementing scalable solutions on Google Cloud Platform are strongly desired.

Required Skills or Experience:

  • Model deployment experience on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
  • MLOps
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Proficiency with two or more of the following languages; Python, Java, Javascript, or R
  • Development and support of containerized solutions
  • Microservices and API development
  • Hands-on experience with cloud storage platforms
  • Analytic tools and ETL/ELT/Data-Pipeline frameworks
  • Agile Scrum
  • CI/CD
  • Git and Azure DevOps
  • Knowledge in test frameworks, code coverage, static code analysis tools
  • General knowledge of computer networks
  • Adept at working collaboratively within a team environment to accomplish goals
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.

Preferred Skills or Experience:

  • Terraform
  • Data Engineering concepts: ETL/ELT/Pipelines
  • TensorFlow Extended or Kubeflow
  • Google Cloud Platform
  • BigQuery, Firestore, CloudSQL
  • Cloud Dataflow
  • DICOM standards
  • FHIR, HL7 standards
  • HITRUST, CAP/CLIA

The successful candidate must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have strong security acumen and have strong organizational, system support experience and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ experience including 3 years’ of demonstrated technical experience and 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience; (Or, Associate’s degree and 9 years’ experience including 3 years’ of demonstrated technical experience and 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience)

Authorization to work and remain in the United States, without necessity for Mayo Clinic sponsorship now, or in the future (for example, be a U.S. Citizen, national, or permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).

Capable of moving among work areas and willing to do so.
Demonstrated project and deliverable consistency through repeatable and reliable performance.
Proven evidence of project management skills.
Demonstrated oral and written communication, organization, problem solving, and facilitation skills.
Evidence of mastery level expertise in one computing technology.
Demonstrated ability in solving complex technical problems with multiple computing technologies.
Experience working in healthcare technology.
Exposure to managing both custom developed and vendor-supplied applications.
Masters degree in applicable field preferred.

Compensation Detail

Required education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.  The salary range every 2 weeks is approx. $3,670-$5,138 based on a full-time position.
