We are hiring a data analyst to partner with our Marketing team and use Strava’s data assets to advance Strava’s brand and subscription product. Your collaboration will enable us to maximize the impact of our marketing operations by keeping the team focused on the right metrics for our teams, finding the right audiences for our campaigns, and increasing our collective understanding of the athletes in Strava’s global community. We know that a commitment to quantitative strategy and measurement will be essential to growing the reach and impact of our initiatives.

This role will report to an Analytics Manager and will also contribute to growing the capabilities of Strava’s data platform and promoting data culture across the company.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will:

  • Inform the strategy behind Strava’s global brand and marketing organization

  • Empower marketers to know their audience through the development of self-serve data sources & execution of impactful ad-hoc analyses

  • Define the metrics that will be used to guide and evaluate marketing campaigns and the progress of the marketing strategy collectively

  • Become a subject matter expert on our brand, our product, and our athletes

  • Collaborate with the rest of the data organization at Strava (Machine Learning, Data Platform, etc) to collectively improve our technological craftsmanship

You will be successful here by:

  • You have excellent communication skills, with the ability to construct compelling stories and clearly articulate them to a non-technical audience

  • You can manage a wide array of stakeholders and effectively prioritize work to maximize your impact

  • You like building reusable data sets and self-service tools to empower your collaborators

  • You are able to spot things in our data that others have overlooked, and are comfortable making recommendations that will help the broader team improve our self-service capabilities and ways of working.

We’re excited about you because:

  • 3+ years of full-time experience in analytics, data science, or other quantitative domains.

  • You are highly proficient with SQL and have experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau)

  • You have an understanding of data pipeline concepts (e.g. ETL, scripting common analysis workflows)

  • You have experience with experimentation, including design, implementation, and methodologies (e.g. hypothesis testing, regression analysis) for analyzing and interpreting results

  • You communicate effectively with marketers and various cross-functional stakeholders, and your written, oral, and cross-cultural communication skills are excellent- especially when it comes to quantitative or technical content

  • You’re comfortable managing concurrent projects and meeting goals, even in the context of competing deadlines or priorities
