About This Role

Strava is the leading social platform for athletes and the largest sports community in the world, with over 95 million athletes in 195 countries. If you sweat you’re an athlete, and Strava’s mobile apps and website connect millions of active people every day!

We are looking for an experienced analyst interested in a full time role to help develop and scale Strava’s experimentation processes. You will collaborate with vertical team leads across Strava to foster a greater commitment to leveraging experimentation in our product and marketing roadmaps and partner with data users across the company to develop the foundational data required to scale experiment analysis. You will also partner with a nascent technical team to co-develop tooling and services for administering A/B tests across Strava’s product and marketing, helping to unlock the potential of our dataset and scale our analytics capabilities to support both internal customers and our athletes. This role will report to an Analytics Manager and will act as an internal champion of experimentation virtues and principles.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will:

  • Accelerate the culture and refine process of experimentation across the company

  • Develop data sets and tools to help other analysts scale the efficiency by which they can find meaning in data

  • Support the Experimentation Platform team’s roadmap and use your experience and subject knowledge to help the team prioritize opportunities

  • Collaborate with the rest of the data organization at Strava (Machine Learning, Data Platform, etc) to collectively improve our technological craftsmanship

You will be successful here by:

  • Thinking about scalability and building reusable data sets and self-service tools to empower your collaborators to learn along with you

  • Leading efforts to better understand the ways in which internal products and tools will drive the most impact to our internal processes

  • Not being afraid to ask questions, learn, share and iterate on ways of working, your product space, and analytics capabilities

We’re excited about you because:

  • 5+ years of full-time experience in analytics, data science, or other quantitative domains.

  • You are highly proficient with SQL and have experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau)

  • You have an understanding of data pipeline concepts (e.g. ETL, scripting common analysis workflows)

  • You have experience with experimentation, including design, implementation, and methodologies (e.g. hypothesis testing, regression analysis) for analyzing and interpreting results

  • You enjoy building foundational tools and data sets that unlock the effectiveness of data users across the company
