About the Data Analytics Manager role

In this role, you will lead two critical analytics functions

  • Partner & Finance Analytics - drives strategic use of Trove's data to acquire new brands and ensure our current brand partners are massively successful on the Trove platform and that Trove is essential, irreplaceable, and broadly recognized within our brand partner organizations
  • Operations & Sustainability Analytics - Trove is building world class operations supporting the unique “one of one” environment of used items. This team works side by side with our Operations team to drive improvements at our warehouse in Brisbane, California, leveraging data and analytics to improve our performance measurement and identify the highest-leverage opportunities for the operations team

 

This position reports to the Director of Analytics and will have a close working relationship with the Partner, Finance, and Operations teams and their leadership.

 

Responsibilities 

 

  • Empower Partner teams (Business Development, Onboarding, and Partnerships), Finance, and our partners to access and understand our data, leverage it to discover new opportunities, take actions to improve business performance, and make better decisions
  • Lead and grow team of analysts (currently 4 analysts), with a focus on personal development and continuous improvement. Reinforce our team culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and mutual respect
  • Develop and manage processes to make sure that we're using our resources in the most effective way, creating value for Trove and our partners
  • Own and lead the execution of the vision for what Trove's partner-facing data product should be (reporting platform + raw data transfer)
  • While your first priority will be managing the team, you are able and willing to roll up your sleeves and solve specific problems when needed
  • Maintain and evolve our reporting systems (SQL-based ETL through final analysis) and develop creative solutions to business problems and workflows

  • You have a demonstrated ability to a manage a busy backlog, prioritizing for impact, while maintaining great relationships with stakeholders
  • You're skilled at project planning and identifying a path forward through complexity. You effectively manage expectations on delivery scope and timeline
  • You thrive in a highly collaborative and cross-functional team environment, and have a proven ability to cultivate relationships within and across departments
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills, and are comfortable communicating clearly in a remote environment across all levels of the org and with external partners
  • You have expert-level SQL skills, are strong at building dashboards using modern BI tools, familiarity with git-based workflows, and are comfortable with the technical work performed by a modern analytics team

 

Nice to Have

  • Retail and/or Ecommerce experience
  • Familiarity with our data stack or similar modern data tools: Redshift, dbt, Looker, python notebooks
