About the Machine Learning Engineer Position

In this role, you will work alongside a team of data scientists to productionalize machine learning systems that solve novel problems in the fastest-growing segment of the retail industry. You will play a key role in writing implementations and setting up the systems and processes that will allow Trove to efficiently and effectively scale its data science efforts, while having plenty of support on infrastructure and system design.

Responsibilities 

• Contribute at all levels of Trove’s data science stack from back end technologies, to the machine learning stack, to the serving infrastructure
• Develop scalable tools and services to enable machine learning workflows and experimentation
• Implement production grade software from data science prototypes
• Write code that is readable, testable, modular, and maintainable
• Give detailed and constructive feedback in design and code reviews

Projects Might Include

• Implement retraining pipelines for existing computer vision models and new prototypes
• Enhance scalability of existing machine learning pricing algorithms
• Design and develop offline evaluation tools to enable faster experimentation and iteration

Qualifications

• Strong grasp of machine learning with a focus on building the software beyond model training 
• Proficiency in data structures and algorithms, data pipelines, and CI/CD for machine learning
• Exposure to machine learning frameworks such as XGBoost and Tensorflow
• Technical proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience working with Docker and AWS

Bonus if you have 

• MLOps experience is highly desirable
• Experience with some of the following tools: Terraform, Spark, Airflow, R
• Demonstrated professional or academic experience with at least one of machine learning, reinforcement learning or computer vision
