OVERVIEW:

As part of the Global Data Governance Services team, the Data Governance Manager will develop and support a Global Data Governance Program that focuses on Data Governance roles, Data Policies & Standards, Data Quality, and Data Management processes.  This individual will also play a critical role in standardization of data governance across the PET segment and Consumer data domain, partnering with the business to ensure data is fit for use.  The Data Governance Manager for PET/Consumer has three direct reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Lead a team of PET data stewards to ensure PET data is fit for business use
  • Primary data governance point of contact for the PET segment and Consumer data domain
  • Develop, champion, and enforce sustainable Global Data Governance policies, processes, standards and guidelines
  • Partner with Consumer Data Owner, Master Data Operations and Cybersecurity on a consumer data governance roadmap
  • Own, enhance and champion Global Data Governance policies, processes, standards, tools and guidelines
  • Ensure Data Quality policies & standards are followed within assigned area
  • Understand, document and inform GDGS on PET/Consumer data environment and determine what is uniquely required and where the global opportunities exist
  • Coach and mentor others to ensure understanding and sustainability of Data Stewardship & Governance practices at GMI

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's Degree or 3+ years Relevant Experience
  • Knowledge and experience in Data Governance frameworks and methodologies
  • Demonstrated understanding of external data trends and industry requirements
  • Resilient change agent
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change across large organizations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills  
  • Ability to deal with high levels of ambiguity  
  • Experience and competence in leading, influencing, coaching and mentoring others  
  • Experience and comfort in leading when not necessarily a subject matter expert  
  • Self-starter and self-motivated requiring little support from others

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience managing data driven processes across multiple functions
  • Experience with Master Data Domains (Customer, Vendor, Material or Hierarchies)
  • Experience with SAP or other data management solutions
