Senior Data Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW

General Mills is developing a best-in-class Revenue Management capability that helps drive performance of General Mills now and into the future. An integral part of this capability is developing scaled analytics to inform and measure revenue optimization opportunities. The team is seeking a Senior Data Analyst that will play the critical role of linking business objectives to core technological capabilities. This role will drive organized and effective requirements to build the product. They will be responsible for ensuring the team knows and understand what they are expected to build through a backlog and user stories, and how it connects to overall objectives. This role is the development team’s source for business logic, requirements, and analysis. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and be able to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Partner with business SMEs, Product Owners, and D&T peers to drive SRM Data & Analytics
  • Collaborate with a Product Owner to shape the end-to-end product strategy, determine business value, estimate feasibility and effort, and align on priorities
  • Superior capabilities in data analysis with a passion for data science, AI, and Machine Learning (ML)
  • Serve as the end-to-end technical subject matter expert on technology for GMI revenue management teams, uncovering key business questions and providing analysis, insights, and solutions
  • Gather project requirements from internal business clients; identify and eliminate gaps via partnership with D&T architects; translate requirements into technical documents; and communicate throughout the entire development process
  • Partner with SRM business team in development of new capabilities that leverage the Cloud, AI
  • Proactive learning mindset with a passion to increase your skill on DnA capabilities
  • Identify, communicate, influence, and manage solutions, risks, and connection points

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent relevant discipline
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in a data or business analyst position 
  • Advanced experience analyzing and validating large datasets using SQL in tools such as GCP BigQuery to understand patterns, structures, and definitions
  • Experience leading teams in an agile setting as an analyst
  • Effective verbal and written communication and influencing skills at the tactical level, and using these skills to bridge the gap between development team and stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Self-managing, results-oriented, and capable of leading multiple initiatives simultaneously through rigorous prioritization
  • Experience facilitating agile ceremonies, managing a backlog/release plan, removing blockers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ year experience with BigQuery, Cloud Storage desired 
  • Familiarity with ADO and Agile-Scrum
  • Comfortable presenting to senior leaders
  • Experience and passion for leading teams
  • Experience with Sales, Marketing capabilities and data
  • Comfortable in ambiguity
