Job Description

The creation of Model e was informed by the success of small, passionate Ford teams that developed the Mustang Mach-E SUV and F-150 Lightning pickup, as well as Ford’s dedicated EV division in China. Similarly, dedicated teams within Model e will create the software platforms and fully networked vehicle architectures to support delightful, always-on, and ever-improving vehicles and experiences that will allow us to deliver over 50% of our total sales in BEV and 33 million connected vehicles by 2030.

Within Model e, we are building a team of Data Engineering and Business Intelligence Professionals to drive Business Intelligence metrics and analytics capability. You will work in an end-to-end Product Management Delivery model with customer-focused business managers, product owners, product designers, data engineers, and software developers to deliver next-gen analytics innovation.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be able to do:

  • As the Data Insights & Visualization Specialist within the Model e Customer Reporting & Business Intelligence Team, you will support cross-functional team members across Ford.
  • Deliver automation and visualization across Model e Customer, consistent with Ford processes and standards
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into the BI data layer design to provide meaningful business insights based on BI best practices
  • Design, develop, and deliver reporting instruments, dashboards, and ad-hoc solutions using BI tools (semantic layer, analytics, dashboards, report definitions)
  • Clearly articulates the rationale for design decisions to various user groups from business to technical
  • Collaborate with the technical stakeholder teams such as Data Architects, Data Modelers, ETL Developers, Enterprise Architects, BI Developers, Project Managers, Platform Architects, and Data Science Managers for the implementation of the large-scale data analytics/BI solution
  • Ensure quality data creation, presentation, and data flow across systems
  • Work with resources across Ford to provide scalable, automated solutions around the globe

Qualifications

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Business Intelligence, Statistical, Data Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in BI visualization, data analysis, and data profiling activities.
  • 4+ years of experience in developing/maintaining analytics dashboards, developing/maintaining reporting tools to build self-serve reports, and ad-hoc packages, and managing data flow, filters, and workflows leveraging enterprise data warehouse
  • 4+ years utilizing BI visualization tools like Tableau, DOMO, Looker, Datorama, Qlik Sense, COGNOS, and/or Power BI
  • Experience with any of the Data Engineering and/or Data Integration products such as ETL, Big Query, SQL, Python or Alteryx
  • 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)


Our preferred requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Business Intelligence, Statistical, Data Engineering, or a related field
  • Ability to derive key insights from the data and articulate them to cross-functional teams in the context of business challenges.
  • Strong experience consuming data models, developing SQL, addressing data quality issues, proposing BI solution architecture, and articulating best practices in end-user visualizations
  • Experience with GCP cloud services including Big Query, Cloud Composer, Dataflow, Cloud SQL, Looker, and Looker ML, Data Studio, GCP QlikSense
  • Familiarity with big data and machine learning tools and platforms. Comfortable with open-source technologies including Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka
  • Inquisitive, proactive, and interested in learning new tools and techniques
  • Evidence of strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and ability to operate in a white space environment generating insights to build and tell a story
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment
  • A high degree of organization, individual initiative, critical thinking, personal accountability, and comfort in working in a high-paced delivery-focused environment where problems are not always well-defined to support team success.
