Ford Motor Company's GDIA organization is seeking a skilled data scientist to join our Quality Analytics team. As a Data Scientist on our Quality Analytics team, you will focus on preventive quality control, developing and implementing machine learning models to detect anomalies in our manufacturing components' test data. Your work will be crucial in identifying quality issues during production and ensuring our commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be able to do:

  • Develop, implement, and fine-tune anomaly detection machine learning models for manufacturing components test data.
  • Analyze and interpret multi-modal datasets, uncovering trends and insights that will inform our quality control strategies.
  • Continuously improve the efficiency and accuracy of existing machine learning models.
  • Develop scalable model architectures for fast and reliable model retraining purposes.
  • Collaborate with the production team and other stakeholders to prevent defective parts from reaching customers.
  • Document and communicate findings and insights to stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in machine learning algorithms and industry best practices.

Qualifications

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in Python programming language.
  • 2+ years’ experience in analyzing high-dimensional datasets.
  • 2+ years’ experience in SQL programming language and relational databases.
  • 2+ years of experience with data analysis and visualization Python packages such as Pandas, SciPy, Seaborn, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience with supervised machine learning algorithms and at least one of the following popular Machine learning frameworks: Scikit-learn, Pytorch, TensorFlow, and XGBoost.
  • Solid understanding of unsupervised machine learning algorithms such as isolation forests, one-class SVM, autoencoders, etc.
  • Familiarity with feature engineering concepts, Fourier transform, and statistical feature extraction and selection.

Our preferred requirements:

  • Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field is preferred.
  • Experience with Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform for data processing and machine learning tasks.
  • Familiarity with the concept of time-frequency analysis and deep learning-based feature extraction.
  • Familiarity with sequential data modeling, feature extraction, and deep neural net architectures such as LSTM, GANS, and Conditional Random Fields.
