What You’ll Do
The Data Science team at Ramp creates value by optimizing core leverage points across the business (i.e. Risk, Growth, Core Product, etc).
- Leverage a combination of structural modeling, causal inference, machine learning, and optimization to build key algorithms to solve core business problems
- Work across the lifecycle of quantitative problems -- from formalizing nebulous business problems into tractable quantitative frameworks, to doing research & prototyping, to working with engineers to put algorithms into production
- Design & run statistically-sound experiments to measure the causal impact of your work
- Define, clean, and transform large datasets from a wide array of data sources
- Contribute to the company roadmap by working closely with product management, engineering, and other stakeholders
What You Need
- Minimum 1 year of experience hiring and managing data scientists
- M.S. degree in Math, Economics, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields with a minimum of 3 year of industry experience as a Data Scientist
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience
- Advanced SQL expertise (preferably PostgreSQL 11.x and newer)
- Experience leveraging scripting languages (i.e. Python) to work with large datasets
- Familiarity with the mathematical fundamentals of statistics, optimization, and/or economics
- Familiarity with experimental design (such as A/B testing), causality, and statistical methods
- Track record of shipping high quality products and features at scale
Nice to Haves
- PhD in Math, Economics, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields

- Prior experience within data engineering; creating & maintaining ETLs / pipelines
- Experience at a high-growth startup
