Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Design, develop, and evaluate predictive models to support member marketing campaigns by bringing knowledge of ML / AI data science techniques and leveraging them
  • Perform EDA , forecasting, and complex analyses by understanding, manipulating, and drawing business insights from structured, and unstructured data to support marketing business partners
  • Build reporting and data visualizations based on stakeholder requirements
  • Understand the client’s needs and articulate an analytics solution to drive outcomes
  • Work independently 
  • Build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams
  • Passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes
  • Utilize technical tools and languages for model development and analysis, such as Python, SQL, Databricks
  • Utilize technical tools and languages for reporting and dashboard development, such as SQL, Snowflake, Tableau, and Power BI

Required Qualifications: 

  • Experience using statistical computer languages (Python, SQL, or R, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
  • Experience using a variety of data mining / data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using / creating algorithms and creating / running simulations
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, power analysis and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications
  • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques ( clustering, decision tree learning and other classification algorithms, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages / drawbacks
  • Deep understanding of data science and ability to deliver models, communicate results and juggle multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau to build reporting and data visualizations
  • Experience working with and creating data architectures
  • A/B testing and test design techniques and methods for experimentation and causal inference
  • Proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights
  • Proven drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $70,200 to $137,800 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
