About the Role: 

In this role, you should be highly analytical with a knack for analysis, math, and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data and model outcomes.  Your goal will be to help our company develop data products using Machine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence to meet learning objectives and growth goals for all students.  This is a rare opportunity to gain real-world experience while embedded in a Data & Analytics team at an exciting time in EdTech and AI innovation. 

What You'll Be Doing:

• Collaborate with the data science team to develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms using SQL, NLP/Sequence prediction algorithms, and reinforcement learning. 

• Evaluate and compare the performance of different models and choose the best one for the problem at hand. 
• Fine-tune models using transfer learning, hyperparameter tuning, and other techniques to achieve optimal performance. 
• Develop and optimize data pipelines and data processing systems using Python. 
• Create data visualizations and reports to communicate insights and findings to stakeholders. 
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and advancements in deep learning and data science. 

About You:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. 
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases. 
• Experience with NLP/Sequence prediction algorithms, transformers and reinforcement learning. 
• Familiarity with machine learning libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn. 

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 
• Nice to have: Some experience with AWS services such as SageMaker, EC2, S3, and Lambda. 
• Commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week and up to 40 hours per week for a 12 week timeframe 
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States 

Location: Open to candidates in U.S.  

Length of contract: 12 weeks

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected contract rate for this position is $33.48 - $41.85 USD per hour based on several factors, including experience and geography. Benefits for this role are not directly provided through DreamBox Learning.
