THE TEAM

Our Analytics Engineering team is centralized within the Data Organization and partners closely with the Data Platform Engineering and cross-functional analytics teams to connect the dots between imminent analytics needs and the existing supply of data. The scope of the team spans enabling multiple user personas with varying levels of data literacy/savviness across the breadth of the business. Key “data products” owned by the Analytics Engineering team include various data marts, transformations/business logic to convert source data to consumable metrics/dimensions, and enablement around what data exists, how to leverage it, and everything in between. We conquer significant problems by putting our heads together, learning, supporting, and mentoring each other to reach greater heights across the Data Org and across various functions within the company.


THE CHALLENGE

Eventbrite has the world’s largest data repository of live events, powering millions of events and hundreds of millions of ticket transactions each year in 170+ countries. The Analytics Engineering team’s mission is to provide self-service tools and data assets that serve as the common foundation for enabling analytics and insights at Eventbrite. We are looking for a technical manager who can amplify the importance of the Analytics Engineering function, and partner with various Analytics leads and stakeholders to develop the next-generation analytics platform for Eventbrite.

THE ROLE

You will lead with empathy and champion the team and their work across the organization. Amplify each team member’s impact through coaching, mentoring, and proactive career development. Drive and own your team’s roadmap, backlog, and technical execution, rolling up your sleeves to be a force multiplier. Actively collaborate, effectively communicate & manage stakeholder expectations, and continuously adapt to business needs while not compromising team autonomy. Facilitate collaboration with analysts and data platform engineers to develop data products and enablement for internal users. Constantly strive to improve processes for the team to become more efficient via customizing agile development practices, new frameworks, or new software. Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with Eventbrite’s values.


THE SKILLSET

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • 2+ years of experience managing, mentoring, and developing technical talent
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in a staff-level analyst or analytics engineering role, with expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, and building pipelines at scale
  • Values individual strengths and builds inclusive culture and team identity
  • Track record aligning cross-functional stakeholders including analysts, data engineers, data scientists, and business leaders.
  • Understanding/experience with data languages, tools, and techniques and how to leverage them for impact including Snowflake, DBT, Airflow, BI/Viz Tools
  • Ability to take diverse analytical needs and synthesize them into common data models and actionable frameworks
  • Ability to manage a multi-quarter roadmap with multiple parallel projects/workstreams.
