The Manager Data Analytics role will pay a critical function in ensuring that the price a member sees in the experience (“quotes”) matches the total member cost after claims adjudication (“claims”). Transparency and security are central to the Surest member experience. We make healthcare consumer friendly by putting up front prices on care, eliminating surprises. Partnering with product and content teams, this role will help drive platform and data improvements to best help Surest meet our members’ needs as they obtain care.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop the roadmap for quote-to-claim analytics team
  • Become an expert in the Surest “quote to claim” analytic product as well as knowledgeable across the Surest consumer app, provider data, benefit design, and claims payment processing
  • Analyze data and triage specific findings across the “quote-to-claim” pipeline
  • Build and leverage dashboard findings for real-time monitoring and triage
  • Partner with internal content and technology teams for resolution of issues
  • Build out a taxonomy of “quote-to-claim” issues
  • Partner as a stakeholder for the direction of our “quote to claim” product offering across the member facing and operational digital experiences
  • Manage quote-to-claim analysts in achieving the goals listed above

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare, supply chain, or industrial analytics or other field with high-transaction volume and complex distribution systems
  • 3+ years of experience using SQL to complete essential job duties
  • 3+ years of experience working with healthcare administrative data (e.g., claims, encounters, clinical, provider, etc.)
  • Experience making data visualizations and dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Looker)
  • Experience leading a team of data analysts
  • Experience driving an analytics roadmap
  • Experience presenting research methods and findings to stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of clinical data domains and code sets (CPT, ICD, DRG, etc.)
  • Proven high attention to detail
  • Proven innate curiosity to learn more
  • Proven skillset to serve as a key resource for complex and critical issues
  • Proven excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a highly dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in healthcare, engineering, or quantitative field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Exposure to or experience applying lean management or six-sigma methods
  • Industrial or quality engineering academic or professional background

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $85,000 to $167,300. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
