Responsibilities

The Quality Data and Analytics (QDA) manager has the overall responsibility for ensuring complete and accurate data abstraction for the practice; development and measurement of a system that provides optimal data and analytics to the practice; and complete and accurate report analysis and interpretation including recommendations/support for improving clinical practice performance within the context of internal and external regulatory requirements as appropriate. Manages enterprise operations for QDA team. Responsible for operational leadership of daily processes for QDA providing daily supervision for the QDA staff, participating in staff development, workforce planning, assuring unit staffing and providing project management support for applicable quality initiatives. Ensures the QDA departmental plan is aligned with the Mayo Clinic strategic plan, and the Quality Management System plan.


Responsible for executing assigned portions of the QDA strategic plan that encompasses end to end processes including regulatory, abstraction, submission, analysis and improvement that is supported by Quality and Mayo Clinic systems. Maintains knowledge of industry best practices. Demonstrates organizational and prioritization skills in a complex, rapid-paced environment. Strong leadership, management and mentoring skills will be required. Has knowledge and understanding of regulatory issues and how they impact the Quality direction placed on the organization. Must be able to travel occasionally for training and system support.This position will lead QDA’s Hospital Regulatory team that supports enterprise-wide regulatory data submissions for federal/state level inpatient and hospital ambulatory requirements.

This Position is 100% remote, must live within reasonable driving distance to a Mayo Clinic site.

Qualifications

Master's degree with an emphasis in Business, Systems, Healthcare or Quality-related field required or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of four years of experience in the same areas of emphasis. Two years prior supervisory/experience strongly preferred. Good analytical, problem solving, and systems analysis required. Previous experience in project management required with demonstrated history of increased responsibility. Experience and/or good understanding of the clinical practice required. Previous experience in strategic and tactical decision making, understanding of care management functions, understanding of institutional systems like laboratory, pharmacy, etc., ability to present and articulate the requirements, processes and products of QDA. Strong oral and written communication skills. Able to work effectively in a team-based environment. Demonstrates the ability to function in a self-directed manner in multi-task environment. Possesses the ability to interact effectively with customers and understand their needs. Other abilities include flexibility, change agent, ability to provide encouragement, and stimulate innovative thinking under adverse conditions and short deadlines.

Preferred candidate will have experience with federal and state quality data reporting requirements, e.g., CMS new and proposed rule change interpretation, IPQR requirements, and state reporting programs in AZ, FL, MN, and WI. Experience with eCQM submission process is highly desirable.

$107,140.80 - $160,742.40 / year; Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
