At HubSpot, we aim to help millions of companies grow better by becoming the #1 CRM platform for scaling companies. Recently, we’ve met a few major milestones - reaching 100k customers and $1 billion in annual recurring revenue. As we expand both our business and product offerings, we’re looking for curious and motivated folks to join the Product Operations team.
As an Operations & Planning Analyst, you are a member of a global team of data-driven influencers, setting the standard for how data and analytics is used at HubSpot, and inspiring our product teams to action.
Operations teams at HubSpot use multiple sources of data (user event data, NPS, and transactional data, etc) to discover what is going well for our customers, where we can improve, and what to build next. Operations & Planning Analysts -- individuals with a balance of data literacy and business acumen, intellectual curiosity, and communication skills -- are at the center of these analyses and decisions; we work side-by-side with Go-to-market leaders, Pricing & Packaging, Product Management, User Experience, and Engineering leadership to inform and build better solutions for our customers.
In this role, while you operate with a high degree of autonomy, you benefit from the support of the Analytics and Operations communities at HubSpot -- sharing ideas, debating approaches, and receiving feedback to deliver more effective analyses and develop in your career.
General responsibilities:
- Be a driving influencer on the use and application of analysis; deliver what’s needed, and show what’s possible
- Partner with product and operations stakeholders to understand your team’s data and business needs; become an expert in translating these needs into specific analyses with actionable insights
- Assess risks and opportunities through scenario modelling to build insight and provide clear recommendations and next steps.
- Understand the current operations around your product area’s business and how your team can drive scalable growth.
- Confidently and accurately communicate insights to your stakeholders and management with a data-driven point of view and plan for action.
Examples of common projects:
- Model scenarios for revenue and customer growth and subsequently set reasonable targets with your team. Serve as the expert in understanding the segments, assumptions, and sensitivities of particular inputs and where there’s opportunity and potential risk.
- Define (or redefine) leading indicators of success for your team. Collaborate with others to design processes and initiatives that will drive impact on key performance indicators (KPIs). Construct the dashboards, visualizations and analyses to help monitor those KPIs and initiative impact.
- Perform regular analyses to curate clear, informative performance updates that executives consume to understand the health of the business. Perform ad hoc analyses to understand emerging trends and identify root causes.
- Be a voice within your teams to educate, elevate and advocate for the continual value of leveraging analytics to inform decision making
Minimum Qualifications:
- Academic or professional experience with either a business operations or analytics focus (e.g. Finance, Economics, Business or Marketing Analytics)
- Practical experience in a business environment influencing decision making with data
- Experience working with business and financial data, understanding of core concepts like customer acquisition, revenue generation, and retention.
- Ability to write SQL queries combining multiple sources of data
- Confidence using a variety of techniques to forecast, model scenarios, assess risk, and measure correlations.
- Passionate about the role of data in helping solve complex questions
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and collaboration skills
Above and Beyond Qualifications:
- Knowledge of analytical development tools such as Amplitude, Looker, Git and dbt
- Comfortability with data analytics and statistical tools such as R or Python
- Demonstrated passion for building products that delight customers and drive their success
We know the confidence gap and imposter syndrome can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates, so please don’t hesitate to apply — we’d love to hear from you.
