Reforge's mission is to help our customers do the best work of their career as they build technology products. We teach educational programs whose frameworks and strategies are sourced from the world's leading technology companies and leaders. In this role, you'll learn and apply those frameworks and ensure that Reforge is the best example of our own material. This role will work with other functional roles (product, engineering, design, marketing, operations, support) to create the best experience possible for our customers and evolve our data-driven culture.
You'll be responsible for doing deep analysis to identify where there are pockets of opportunity, ensure that teams have the data they need to answer their own questions and measure changes, and create new data sets that will be used throughout the company. Your work will inspire new products and features, identify users that are under-served, measure key business metrics, and influence the strategy of our product and customer experience.
Reforge was founded by Brian Balfour (former VP Growth @ HubSpot, 3X venture backed founder). The team bootstrapped the company to a profitable, 8-figure revenue company. We recently raised $21.5M from Andrew Chen and Anish Acharya at Andreessen Horowitz along with a group of 100 C and VP level leaders. As of Summer 2021, we have just over 50 employees.
We are a remote-first company and welcome team members based in the US.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Help define success metrics and help hold teams accountable to the core drivers of success.
- Act as a thought leader in the organization for how to leverage product data to unearth new insights as well as how segmenting populations by any number of attributes can create a more personalized and valuable experience.
- Partner with Product Managers to understand how users are active on our platform. You'll work with them on deep analysis to unlock insights, find areas of improvement for features, and measure the success of new launches.
- Partner with our marketing team to understand what drives conversion as well as what powers long term engagement in our cohorts as well as the community.
- Partner with our curriculum development team to understand which programs are performing well, where they can be improved, and where there are opportunities to create new programs and material. You'll leverage behavioral, demographic, and firmographic data to help influence the direction of our programs.
- Partner with our community team to understand what drives value when people contribute to the community, whether it's from asking for help or helping others across many different types of interactions.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

Head of Data - You'll work closely with and report to our Head of Data, Dan Wolchonok (former Director of Product Analytics at HubSpot).

Product Managers and Product Designers - You'll be a true partner to the product team rather than someone who receives a queue of requests. You'll help the team become self sufficient in answering their own questions, partner with them on strategy, and do exploratory analyses that help to shape the direction of where the product heads next.

Engineering Team - In some companies the engineering team is separated away from other departments. That's not the case at Reforge. You'll have a close working relationship with our engineering team. Our engineers are hungry for the company to leverage data to build better features and personalize the overall customer experience via behavioral data.

Marketing Team - We don't have a sales team here at Reforge, and marketing is responsible for generating all of our revenue. There is tremendous opportunity to improve the effectiveness of our revenue and engagement campaigns, and data will be a central ingredient to all of their campaigns.

Data Team - You'll be one of our earliest product analysts. You will help to shape the culture of the team, refine our team rituals, and help pick and implement our technology toolset.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Experience taking unstructured problems and breaking them down into manageable quantitative analyses
- Experience working with complicated SQL queries and ETL tools like DBT
- Experience working with behavioral analytics tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel, Heap
- Experience working with BI tools like Metabase, Looker, Tableau
- Experience working with data analytical / statistics tools in R or Python
- Experience presenting technical analyses in a clear and impactful formats (written summaries, live demos, presentation, etc)
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Experience working cross functionally across teams with varying technical proficiency and expertise
