ABOUT THIS ROLE

The data team helps to ensure that Reforge is the best example of our own material. That means that every department at Reforge uses data to deliver an exceptional experience from someone’s first web site visit to being a happy long term customer. The data team empowers other parts of the org to get answers to questions to help inform what they do, how they do it, and how their efforts impact the business. We are responsible for the infrastructure and tooling that empowers each team. The data team also runs analysis to help understand Reforge’s metrics from a holistic perspective and where our efforts have the greatest impact across the business.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be in charge of owning the data foundations, help consume data sources from external products into our data warehouse and build tooling to enable descriptive and predictive analytics. In addition, you will build custom pipelines to process and enrich data and enable syncing of data to downstream systems. Our Head of Data spells it all out here.

You'll be joining as part of the foundational team of a profitable proven startup. We bootstrapped to high seven-figure revenue, led by experienced entrepreneurs, and recently we raised a $60M round from Insight Partners. In addition, you will integrate into our community of subject matter experts, including the leaders who helped build companies like Slack, Pinterest, CreditKarma, ClassPass, ipsy, Eventbrite, SurveyMonkey, Thumbtack, and more.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • Data enrichment on our users and companies from external information sources
  • Enable user demographic reporting across all models in our data warehouse

  • Build 3 new data pipelines ingesting and exporting data from our data warehouse

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 5+ years writing SQL
  • 3+ years working on data pipelines
  • 3+ years writing Python or similar languages for data processing
  • 2+ years architecting data warehouse schemas

Nice to Have

  • Previous professional experience with DBT
  • Familiar with ETL tools (Stitch or an equivalent)
  • Experienced with Metabase, Looker or an equivalent
  • Familiar with Airflow or an equivalent
  • Familiar with Jupyter notebooks or an equivalent
  • Previous experience at a high-growth startup and/or in a similar industry
