The Personalization team makes deciding what to play next easier and more enjoyable for every listener. From Daily Mix to Discover Weekly, we’re behind some of Spotify’s most-loved features. We are looking for a seasoned Product Insights leader to join Spotify’s Personalization group. In this key leadership role you will help multiple insights teams to find the best ways of combining our understanding of the world of music with our listeners tastes and preferences to enable fans to have great personalized listening experiences.

You will lead the Product Insights team of managers and their insights teams to support the direction, communication and storytelling of the insights we use to shape our products. Being able to work across cross-functional teams including designers and engineers you will expand how we innovate insights that support product development. You will also work with your leadership counterparts in Product, Tech, and Design contributing to the strategic leadership of our Personalization group.

Who You Are:

    • You have significant experience (6+ years) leading insights teams in quantitative and qualitative methods, and you are experienced in managing managers.
    • You have a background in User Research or Data Science with practical chops you don’t mind dusting off from time-to-time. You’ve done the work over the years, and understand what it takes to create personalized experiences.
    • You will come from a user-focused environment, have experience with this and actively seek to understand the experience of users in your work.
    • You care about our listeners, how they experience the world and what parts of that are relevant to their personalized experience on Spotify. You have experience with user-first thinking and actively seek it in your work.
    • You deeply value and have experience with hiring, coaching and leading diverse and high-performing teams.
    • You’re a fantastic communicator and can work cross-functionally with business stakeholders. You shine most at motivating others to carry forward and execute a strategy without needing to be in the room.
    • You are hungry to learn and evolve in all things. From leadership skills to craft to process to industry and market trends — you never stop pushing into the next big challenge.
    • You bring passion and playfulness to your work and those around you.

Where You’ll Be:

    • We are a distributed workforce enabling our band members to find a work mode that is best for them!
    • Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the Americas region in which we have a work location and is within working hours. 
    • Working hours? We operate within the Eastern Standard time zone for collaboration and ask that all be located that time zone.
