We're looking for a passionate Product Management Intern to drive the roadmap and strategic direction inside Spotify.

In Data Management, the solutions we build impact hundreds of Spotify engineers and data scientists and ultimately the user experience of hundreds of MILLIONS of users via more data-informed recommendations and user-experience!

As a Product Management Intern you will work with a cross-functional team and Spotify data platform Product Managers to identify and prioritise areas in the Data Management domain where the team can make a greater impact to the Spotify data community for both seasoned data engineers as well as help novices onboard faster.  

You will enable knowledge sharing and best practices for the different needs throughout the organisation to level up our data platform.

What you'll do

    • Collaborate with a Product Manager on a new or existing product and build a roadmap for its continued evolution.
    • Assist in the roll-out, training and support of new products and capabilities.
    • Draw insights and inspiration from user research, trends in the market, and direct feedback from artists to define new strategies.
    • Help teams efficiently interface, squads to efficiently plan, meetings to run like clockwork.
    • Coordinate with internal partners and teams to develop and spread customer empathy.
    • Get the best out of those around you by operating as a supportive teammate to engineers, designers and others throughout the agile development process.
    • Join a quickly growing and passionate product team and become a member of an accomplished group of product leaders.

Who you are

    • You are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in business admin, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or Marketing.
    • Some form of technical or engineering background.
    • You have a graduation date of 2023 or 2024.
    • You currently have valid work authorization to work in the country in which this role is based that will extend from June to August 2023
    • You have natural leadership tendencies. Your track record shows numerous occasions of bringing people together, formally or informally, to accomplish something you’re passionate about.
    • An exceptional communicator. You have experience collaborating effectively with creatives, engineers, and business people. You inspire people to action with your story telling.  
    • A proven operator. You’ve been on teams building software before and know the basics of the Product Management craft.
    • A music enthusiast. You love music and are passionate about helping musicians thrive while delivering fans amazing experiences.
    • A passion and experience working with Big Data via prior work experience, internships or projects to inform product decisions.

Where you'll be

    • We are a distributed workforce enabling our band members to find a work mode that is best for them!
    • Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the Americas region in which we have a work location. Preferably in New York.

    • Working hours? We operate within the Eastern Standard time zone for collaboration. 
Our paid summer internships last for 10-13 weeks and start at the beginning of June. The last day to apply is February 28th, 2023 at 10AM EST.

The United States hourly rate for this position is 33.00 USD (Undergraduate First Year & Sophomores), 42.00 USD (Undergraduate Juniors & Seniors), 49.00 USD (Masters) & 58.00 USD (PhD) per hour plus a one time intern stipend of 2,253 USD. This position is overtime eligible. These rates may be modified in the future.
