We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to build and drive Data engineering initiatives within the team. In this role, you will be instrumental in streamlining large amounts of ingested data to uncover valuable insights but also setting standards along the way. You will help us to create a user-first ad experience that's personalized and relevant, so we can grow to billions of fans, increasing engagement with our listeners and providing better value to our advertisers. Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences music.

Futurama is an infrastructure team within Ad Experience based in New York City and Boston. Our goal is to empower Ad Experience and partner teams to maximize quality, reliability and efficiency through architecture tooling and processes.

What you will do

    • Conceptualize ways to monitor and alert on ad outages
    • Build new distributed data pipelines across ad experience
    • Work across the entire ads business platform, contributing to the improvement of many different pipelines
    • Apply a Data centric approach to all the platforms, pipelines and engineering activities.
    • Immerse yourself in Scala/Python engineering for better data visibility and unearth viable channels for improvement
    • Become proficient in Scio & Luigi (if not already)
    • Collaborate and connect with our team of engineers to ensure all data pipelines are robust and reliable across backend, frontend and machine learning etc

Who you are

    • You love Data Engineering
    • You are Data centric (able to morph between a Data Engineer and Data Scientist)
    • You have a strong understanding of data systems
    • You are knowledgeable and passionate about improving and building new distributed data pipelines
    • You are familiar with current engineering practices such as distributed architecture.
    • You are curious about new technologies and finding uses and insights for all types of data
    • You will have experience working on and building distributed data pipelines that ingest huge amounts of data across multiple sources and brands
    • You will have experience working with Scala and Python, Scio & Luigi would be an encouraged bonus
    • Ad-tech experience is a plus
