We are looking for a Product Insights Manager with a strong background in data science to help us explore innovative product opportunities and grow our existing audience of 400+ Million listeners. You’ll lead a team of 2-3 Data Scientists and conduct your own insights work including exploratory analysis, experiments and metric definition and reporting to help drive data-informed product decisions. As a member of the insights team, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams of skilled engineers, data scientists, user researchers, designers, and product managers who are all passionate about crafting scalable products for our listeners.

In Freemium, we have a strong insights culture where we place a strong emphasis on using research and data to fuel innovation and growth. You will take part in discovering insights that help us find new ideas and build innovative products, and grow our Spotify listener base.

What You'll Do :

    • Lead a team of 2-3 Data Scientists, ensuring that everyone on the team is growing in their careers and delivering high quality and impactful insights work.

    • Define a data strategy and build out further capabilities to enable your team to be efficient.

    • Define metrics, run experiments, build dashboards, and do deep dives to empower data-informed decisions driving innovation and user growth.

    • Perform exploratory analysis to extract insights to drive product, design and business decisions by understanding who our users are, how they get value out of our offering and where we can further develop our product to bring greater value.

    • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, engineers, user researchers, and business team members across the organization to use data to determine where to prioritize our bets based on opportunity sizing and foundational insights.

    • Influence strategy by leading foundational research & experimentation initiatives to develop a deeper understanding of our products and our users.

    • Develop and innovate on our mixed-methods insights practice, and contribute to the wider Insights community at Spotify.

Who You Are:

    • You have 2+ years of leading a team of data scientists or other analytics professionals and 5+ years of relevant data science experience, working with product and engineering teams.

    • You have relevant training in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics or another quantitative field.

    • Technical and statistical competence to perform sophisticated analytics on datasets with SQL, coding skills (such as Python, Java or Scala), analytics libraries (Pandas/Numpy, Seaborn, Dplyr, GGplot, etc), & other visualization tools (Tableau).

    • You possess statistical skills to perform sophisticated analytics (such as regression modeling and significance testing).

    • You deliver impactful insights from your data to drive action upon your findings and are comfortable leading collaborators at all levels.

    • You are a trusted and respected mentor to other data scientists.

    • You are passionate about driving projects, leading solutions for big projects and not scared of ambiguous and innovative spaces.

    • You are an effective communicator who values building positive relationships with colleagues and have the ability to distill sophisticated thoughts into simple, impactful recommendations.

    • Thrive in exploratory spaces where problems may lack definition and are able to build a vision and frameworks that guide teams in solving user and business problems effectively.
