Elation is looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer with a deep understanding of modern analytics stacks and tools to join our Data Platform team. We are working on building out a new data warehouse that pulls together data from many different health systems to help our customers understand the full picture of their patients along with how they can work towards improving their health. As our first Analytics Engineer on the team you would be working on building out models and dashboards that help deliver this data in a consumable way to our analysts and our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Work across our analytics stack, develop models using SQL with dbt, create data explores and dashboards in Looker
  • Collaborate with our Data Platform team on scalable and reliable data pipelines. 
  • Communicate across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams to understand our users
  • Coordinate with product, design, QA and engineering to break down and sequence work
  • Improve our engineering standards and practices
  • Translate clinical and claims data across multiple sources to build our sensible and easy to understand analytics models
  • Use data to represent how we are improve the operations and impact of our customers
  • Design testing approaches to validate data integrity and quality

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience applying analytics solutions to sophisticated business problems
  • Understanding of the basic concepts of statistics and the ability to apply them to population data sets
  • Expertise in SQL (common table expressions and window functions) 
  • Familiarity with version control (Git)
  • Familiarity with modern data stacks (our stack: Fivetran, AWS DMS, dbt, Redshift and Looker)
  • Experience in data warehousing, data modeling, data curation, data visualization, and enabling self-service analytics
  • Good written and oral communication skills
