Elation is looking for a Staff Data Engineer with substantial experience designing systems and leading teams managing and transforming data. Elation’s development team is a small group of experienced and talented engineers who are passionate about our product and users. As a member of the team you’ll be responsible for leading a number of projects related to internal and customer-facing data platforms.

What you’ll do

• Lead new projects and transformations of our data architecture across internal and external platforms
• Lead a team of data engineers to deliver on these projects
• Communicate across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams to understand the users of this data and their needs
• Support team members through code review and thoughtful collaboration
• Improve our engineering standards and processes

Skills & Experience

• 7+ years experience in data focused technical leadership roles
• Extensive expertise with relational databases & traditional relational data warehouse solutions, as well as data lake solutions
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate effectively about your projects with stakeholders cross functionally
• Track record of successfully leading complex projects to completion and into production
• Experience with change-data-capture and streaming data transformation platforms
• Experience with AWS technologies relevant to data pipelines (Redshift, DMS, SQS/SNS, Kinesis, AWS Glue, RDS)
• Proficiency in Python & MySQL
• Empathy for our users and colleagues, and curiosity about our users and healthcare delivery
• Growth mindset and a passion for learning and improvement, as well as experience and enthusiasm for mentoring and fostering that in others
