As an Analytics Engineer, you will help company leaders make better decisions by building and maintaining our data stack to power analysis, insights, and reports.

We love collaborating here at Wellthy and in this role you will work closely with all areas of our organization, but especially our data and engineering teams.

You will report directly to our Director of Data Science and Analytics

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Design, build, and maintain data transformations using dbt for analytics and empower end users to do some self-service reporting and data exploration
• Leverage software engineering best practices and technical knowledge to optimize performance of our ELT process and automate analytic workflows
• Collaborate with data analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders to determine data requirements for downstream analyses and projects
• Support company-wide efforts to improve data quality, accessibility, and governance
• Ensure data quality and integrity via testing
• Help evaluate analytics tools to best meet the needs of the organization
• Contribute to the improvement of data team best practices, workflows, and documentation to ensure we are building a sustainable and scalable data function
• Troubleshoot and communicate data issues and processes to internal stakeholders
• Use a modern data stack of Stitch, Snowflake, dbt and Mode.

Qualifications required for this role include:

• Advanced SQL skills
• Expertise building and maintaining data transformations with dbt or similar tools
• Proficient using the command line and version control (git)
• Experience querying and managing a cloud data warehouse (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift)
• Experience in building reporting in modern BI tools (e.g. Mode, Looker, Tableau, etc)
• Strong communicator, life-long learner, problem solver, and always curious

Qualifications that are preferred but not mandatory:

• Intermediate Python
• Experience with a data orchestration tool (e.g. Airflow, Prefect, Dagster)
• Experience designing schemas for user event tracking
• Experience automating data workflows

What to expect in the hiring process

• HackerRank SQL challenge (35 minute time limit, we ask you complete it in one week)
• Interview with our Director of Data Science and Analytics (30 minute Zoom call)
• Technical Interview with our Data Engineer and Director of Data Science and Analytics, you will be sent a basic dbt project in preparation and then be asked to collaborate on a PR review (60 minute Zoom call, plus 30-45 minutes of pre-work)
• Panel Interview focused on collaboration and communication with other data team members (60 minute Zoom call)
