Steady’s income intelligence engine has a wealth of rich employment and financial data of a poorly understood mixed earner population which has enabled us to provide proprietary insights to 5+ million users, automate income verification, and assess Universal Basic Income (UBI) impact in near-real time. As we expand into new products & markets, our focus will be to make that data better available for Sales, Marketing, and other external purposes.

As the second hire onto the Partnership Analytics team, this high-impact role will work closely with our Sales, Strategy, and Public Sector Engagement teams to help develop a new analytics function at Steady.

Responsibilities

• Join a new team that will build out Steady’s sales insights, content analytics, and other external data storytelling capabilities from the ground up.
• Work cross functionally with both internal and external parties to identify how to best tell the story of the growing non-standard worker through a mixture of automated reporting, strategic analysis, and evergreen content.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in the exhaustive data that we have collected on the jobs (500 thousand+), employers (42 million+), and bank transactions ($130 billion+) from our members.
• Surface data-driven insights that drive strategy and optimal decision making for the leaders across the organization.
• Effectively balance competing priorities and deadlines, with an eye on both short term delivery with long term direction and value.
• Help drive a data-first culture where data is understood and leveraged in decision making.
  

Skills & Requirements

• 4-6 years experience performing exploratory data analysis to understand the characteristics of a data set and identify patterns.
• Strategic thinker who is able to think quickly and creatively using data to best solve problems and tell stories about our users and their behaviors.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization as well as with external stakeholders such as public officials and media.
• Creative ability to story-tell with data, and to do so in a visually pleasing manner in a variety of different formats.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with different parts of the organization and with distributed teams across multiple offices and timezones.
• Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, making assumptions, drawing conclusions and distilling complex analyses for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile, team-oriented, entrepreneurial, high-energy environment with shifting priorities.
• Experience writing SQL queries and efficiently manipulating large datasets within analytic databases (preferably Snowflake).
• Strong data visualization skills (preferably Tableau).
• Bonus: Prior experience in a marketing, journalism, or content heavy role, and familiarity with external-facing tech stack (landing pages, HTML/ CSS).
• Bonus: Experience leveraging dbt to develop data models and transformations and/ or using Python, R, or any other programming language used for statistical analysis.
