require a variety of data warehouse and data lake architectures, along with extensive experience in working in the cloud.
In this role, you should have a background in ETL, data architecture, and data engineering. Additionally, you should be
analytical and an excellent communicator, and also have a business acumen, problem-solving and “can do” aptitude.

Additional responsibilities are as follows:
 Provide senior-level contribution toward the design, deployment, and maintenance of the business’ data lake;
support key datasets that yield structured and timely access to actionable business insights
 Ensure that the architecture and data pipeline leverage best practices in system, data and reporting standards,
all the while upholding security, performance, robustness and reliability
 Act as a team player on a small team, where on any given day, you may wear different hats, roll up your sleeves,
and do what is needed to get the job done
 Implement strategies directed at acquiring data from different sources, integrating them into the newly formed
data lake, and promoting the development of new insights across the business.
 Play a lead role in recommending and implementing proper SDLC processes as part of the overall framework.
 Where possible, use test driven development, automate QA and ensure that processes are in place to uphold
integrity throughout the data pipeline
 Develop a deep understanding of data sources and know exactly how, when, and which data to use to solve
particular business problems
 Work closely with colleagues to implement and automate governing frameworks in order to uphold the highest
security standards across our data and our environments
 As part of development efforts, ensure that technical documentation is created and maintained, along with the
capture of business requirements and acceptance criteria that pertain to the technical solution
 Work with senior management and departments beyond the Modern Analytics department in analyzing and
understanding data sources, participating in design, and providing insights and guidance on database technology
and data modeling best practices
 Contribute to the continual improvement of the business’s data platforms through his observations and well-
researched knowledge.
 Keep a pulse on industry best practices and trends, offering opportunities for process and system improvements
 Monitor the existing metrics, analyze data, and lead partnership with other Data and Analytics teams in an effort
to identify and implement system and process improvements.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements
 Extensive knowledge of developing in cloud platforms. Snowflake experience is a significant plus.
 Strong command of relational databases and SQL, along with ETL
 Proficiency with Python or R, especially for data manipulation and analysis, and ability to build, maintain and
deploy sequences of automated processes with these tools.
 Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
 Demonstrated ability to write clear code that is well-documented and stored in a version control system
 Experience in working with agile principles
 Prior experience with a significant data migration a plus, but not required
 Demonstrated ability to work independently and be a self-starter

 Excellent listening, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
 Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams, in both a lead and support role
 Use APIs to push and pull data from various data systems and platforms
