We are presently looking for an experienced data quality engineer to join a small team focused on ensuring data quality in our pipeline. 

This team will focus on product data quality, ensuring data contracts/Sla’s are written and appropriate monitoring is in place.

Quality metrics will be recommended and developed to measure success.

Responsibilities:

    • Work with software development teams to understand the architecture of new and existing applications
    • Analyze data and products to ensure the appropriate product requirements are received. Transform these requirements into appropriate technical quality requirements.
    • Write complete and thorough data contracts/Sla’s by working with Engineering teams and across departments with our partners in Product, Content, Customer Success
    • Recommend, develop and implement appropriate data quality metrics  Work independently with cross functional teams to ensure proper work plans are defined and deadlines met
    • Capable of leading and facilitating meetings with stakeholders and leading small teams to meet targets
    • Ability to recommend how to measure data quality metrics and present them in meaningful presentations

For this role we are looking for individuals that have:

    • BA/BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical field
    • 5 years of data quality engineering experience
    • Demonstrated ability to collect, harmonize and evaluate requirements without prior exposure to systems and processes
    • Solid data analysis and requirements writing skills
    • A mastery of how data quality is measured, including understanding of completeness, uniqueness, validity, accuracy, integrity, timeliness, etc.
    • Experience writing data contracts/SLAs for data pipelines
    • Experience defining and developing appropriate data quality metrics for big data pipelines
    • AWS experience such as S3, Amazon Aurora, Athena
    • Relational Database experience (Aurora or Postgres)A solid foundation in software development and software design principles
    • Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and test-driven development
    • Ability to work independently in cross functional teams
    • Exceptional communication skills
    • Ability and passion for learning
