Why this role   

As a tech-enabled disruptor in the vacation rental industry, Evolve is professionalizing the category by leveraging data science to capitalize on opportunities across the vacation rental ecosystem. The projects we work on aim to fundamentally change how guests interact with vacation rentals and how homeowners maximize rental income generation. As a member of the core data science team, you will be responsible for crafting machine learning solutions to the most challenging prediction problems within the vacation rental industry using a combination of modeling, exploratory analysis, and data strategy to transform how a business domain is able to operate.

What you’ll do

  • Implement algorithmic solutions to prediction problems that exceed existing baselines and provide a meaningful impact for our homeowners and guests
  • Employ retrospective statistical methods to enhance domain understanding
  • Partner deeply with cross-functional leaders to gain domain knowledge, challenge existing assumptions, and develop data product roadmaps
  • Effectively communicate complex and ambiguous information to technical and non-technical stakeholders 
  • Leverage internal and 3rd party experimentation capabilities to measure the impact of new solutions 
  • Consider model explainability as a key factor in maintaining trust and understanding across stakeholders and provide meaningful insights where possible 
  • Accelerate continual improvement on the data science team by sharing learnings and providing feedback on other challenging projects around the company
  • Innovate on existing strategies by researching and applying techniques from other leading data science teams outside of Evolve

What makes you a great fit

  • 5+ years of data science related work 
  • Strong programming experience with Python and SQL, ideally in a full-stack machine learning setting
  • Software development understanding to be able to create high-quality, reproducible code
  • Proven track record of business impact from models you took from prototype to production 
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment and communicating effectively with a variety of stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or related quantitative field, Masters or PhD preferred

Location

Evolve has a flexible working environment so teammates can work remotely anywhere in the state of Colorado, in our beautiful downtown Denver office, remotely or a hybrid of both! As we grow, we are working towards opening remote opportunities across the entire U.S. We currently are able to hire across the U.S except in the following locations: California, District of Columbia, Hawaii, New Jersey, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania. 

Compensation

For this role our salary range is $136,000 to $156,000 depending on relevant experience.  This role will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on both company and individual performance.

In addition to the base salary you will also receive:

Equity: 50% of salary equivalent RSUs
Variable comp: 10% of salary target
