Working at Atlassian
Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Assuming you have eligible working rights and a sufficient time zone overlap with your team, you can choose to work remotely or return to an office as they reopen (unless it’s necessary for your role to be performed in the office). Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
Does the challenge of scaling a fast-growing company by powering it with data, reporting, and analytics excite you? Using your business instincts and creativity, you will support a market-leading product with nuanced analysis, actionable insights, and strong recommendations.
We're growing quickly, so you'll need to help define, implement, and scale the systems and processes for sustainable growth across the marketing and sales organizations. If you love finding patterns amidst chaos, making quick decisions, and aren't afraid of being wrong, this could be a great fit!
Atlassian is hiring an experienced data scientist for our Enterprise go-to-market team. The Enterprise GTM team is a cross-functional group that drives go-to-market programs and strategies to help Atlassian products unleash the potential of every Enterprise team. Our team focuses on the critical moments within the Enterprise team’s discovery of and journey with Atlassian products. We uncover and drive data-informed strategies and tactics across Atlassian’s go-to-market organization.
In this role you'll get to:
- Become the subject matter expert in Atlassian’s top of the funnel strategy for both Enterprise and SMB products.
- Partner with Marketing Leadership to shape marketing strategy driven by data.
- Apply various data science methods to understand the most important aspects of our Enterprise GTM experience and buyer journey.
- Coordinate disparate facts and findings into powerful narratives that have the broadest possible application within Atlassian.
- Accelerate the growth of our unique product-led Enterprise strategy by partnering across Sales Operations, Marketing, and Business Systems to improve how we understand and manage success.
- Evangelize evidence-based decision making by partnering with key decision makers and senior go-to-market leadership.
- Identify and drive improvements to the execution of the full Analytics & Data Science team through standardization of process, authoring new innovative practices, mentorship and cultivation of new expertise.
- Join a growing team of analysts and play an active role in team collaboration and culture.
On the first day we'll expect you to have:
- 5-8 years of analytics experience either in technology, engineering, consulting or relative work experience.
- Experience within B2B marketing, growth, or sales analytics working with a field sales team.
- You write sophisticated SQL with a preference for well-architected data models, optimized query performance, and clearly documented code.
- You are proficient in at least one programming language (e.g. Python, R) as well as a visualization & business intelligence platform (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Mode)
- You expedite projects forward, favoring rapid and incremental development in parallel with problem-solving short-term obstacles.
- You use data to drive go-to-market teams to achieve ambitious goals and influencing company-level outcomes. Experience as a technical lead or manager a plus.
- You use excellent judgment and sharp business and product instincts that allow you to prioritize.
It's great, but not required, if you have:
- Experience working in a global environment with remote teams
- Experience across a broad set of statistical and machine learning methods to build descriptive and predictive models
- Experience in schema design and dimensional data modeling and building data pipelines
- Experience with operational tools and systems such as Marketo, Salesforce, or Segment
