The Sr. Manager Data Analytics, Business Intelligence reports to the Director, Business Intelligence and is accountable for STARS Quality & Business Intelligence Reporting, enhancements, issue resolution, operational activities, and providing strategic insight on critical reports that improve health outcomes for our members.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create, deliver, adjust, and maintain key reports & tools needed to drill down into patient care opportunities and ensure that teams have the information they need to implement data-driven strategies 
  • Track ETAs, deliverables, and distribution lists to guarantee clear timing expectations around deliverables and regularly monthly reporting
  • Support data processing, pre-existing reporting, applications, and customer facing reports or data
  • Mentor and provide support to your team of Developers, ensuring all critical processes remain fully operational and that new reports and enhancements are being delivered accurately and in a timely manner 
  • Demonstrate data literacy, and be resourceful in terms of understanding Medicare overall, STAR measures, gap closures and claims
  • Design, build, and maintain architecture pertaining to data handling/processing 
  • Load data and be able to create user friendly reports, providing technical solutions 
  • Develop views for end users utilizing reporting platforms such as SSRS, Tableau, Power BI, or any other reporting tools
  • Validate new or enhanced technical development and implementation and work closely with Quality Assurance Engineers to achieve data quality and accuracy
  • Responsible for maintaining existing data load process, building blocks and customizations
  • Learn about the products, share ideas and be able to train or influence other team members

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive Management experience in the field of Business Intelligence, Analytics, and/or Information Technology
  • 5+ years of experience working with relational data and SQL programming (SQL Server, Teradata, or similar databases)
  • 5+ years of solid working experience in building simple to complex SSIS packages for data processing, that involve data movement between various servers (SQL/ Teradata/ Hive), working with text files, and other data sources
  • 5+ years of experience building reports in SSRS, Tableau and/or Power BI
  • Experience with the software development life cycle (i.e. Business Requirements, Technical Documentation, Quality Assurance)
  • Expert level of proficiency in SQL programming, data analysis and data management
  • Adaptable and flexible style of collaborating with key stakeholders in setting direction
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical and data concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to perform system investigation, reverse engineering, and new development while adhering to development standards and good change control practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Healthcare, Financial Services, or Insurance Industry
  • Experience with automating ETL package
  • Experience in Snowflake
  • Experience with Generative AI 
  • Knowledge in Medicare
  • Self-guided in terms of understating data in physical tables or views, and be able to create/ enhance stored procedures or functions pertaining to report feeds, or any input/output
  • Solid communication skills with experience presenting ideas and solutions to business customers and senior leaders
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little direct supervision and drive results with disciplined follow-through

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California/Colorado/Connecticut/Hawaii/Nevada/New Jersey/New York/Rhode Island/Washington residents is $104,700 to $190,400 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
