Position Overview:

As a staff data engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of our data infrastructure and systems. You will help us define and implement the next data pipeline for Fountain as we move into an enterprise-focused, multi-product company and enable us to be a data-forward company. You will be collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective and efficient processing, integration, and analysis of data across our organization. This role requires a strong technical background in data engineering, leadership skills, and an understanding of data management best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the design, development, and implementation of scalable, high-performance data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration frameworks through collaboration with stakeholders. 
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate data technologies, tools, and methodologies to support data engineering initiatives. 
  • Define and enforce data engineering best practices, standards, and processes to ensure data integrity, quality, and security.
  • Monitor and optimize data pipelines and workflows to ensure efficient data processing and minimize latency and downtime.
  • Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of data platforms and systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering, and drive their adoption within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in data engineering, including designing and implementing scalable data solutions, ETL processes, and data integration frameworks. Having familiarity with MLOps is preferred but not required.
  • Strong technical expertise in data engineering tools and technologies, such as SQL, Python, DBT, Airflow, Dagster (e.g., AWS, GCP), and data warehousing (e.g., BigQuery).
  • Experience with data modeling, schema design, and database technologies (e.g., relational databases, NoSQL databases).
  • Knowledge of data management best practices, data governance, data quality, and data security.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A self-motivated and proactive mindset, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Salary Range: $220,000 - $286,000 USD
