Mindoula is looking for a BI and Analytics Engineer with a passion for modeling data to deliver scalable BI and efficient analytics. You’ll work on datasets that enable Mindoula to better serve and engage members and also deliver public health services in smarter more efficient ways. In this position, you will have agency to own problems from start to finish and work directly with business stakeholders, analysts, and data scientists who use the data products you’ve designed.

What you'll do...

  • Design and engineer efficient and scalable star (Kimball) models
  • Extend our business intelligence functionality to maximize self-service and automate requests. You’ll lead this effort within the team.
  • Design and execute complex SQL queries and scripts to extract, transform, and analyze data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that contribute to business and clinical objectives.
  • Provide expert-level data validation to ensure data quality and consistency, identifying anomalies and inconsistencies in data sets.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand and define data requirements for ad hoc queries and data validation requests.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for query and data validation processes, ensuring knowledge sharing and best practices across the team.

What you'll need...

  • Bachelor's in a relevant field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as an Analytics Engineer, preferably with healthcare claims and DBT experience
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one business intelligence tool experience with relational and columnar databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redshift).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation and analysis is required.
  • Experience with data validation techniques and best practices to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Serves up data at a start-up pace, while maintaining accurate organized code.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Looker, ThoughtSpot or a similar tool.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
