If you are proactive, interactive, flexible, and innovative, this is your chance to be an integral part of a dynamic, fast-paced company.  The Big Data  Back-End Engineering Manager will be part of the ‘Agent Exp. & Brand Excellence unit and work in providing real time and Big Data services and solutions to the entire R&D as well as our customers to develop on top of our open platform. 

 

In this role you will:

  • Lead the backend (streaming, API back-end, integration, databases, queues etc) software design, architecture, and code reviews.
  • Oversee the overall development life-cycle, from design/planning to implementation and support to maintain a high standard of software quality
  • Technical leadership, providing expert-level knowledge while taking an active part in the team tasks.
  • Responsible for the development processes of the team.
  • Work closely with our product and design teams
  • Responsible for code standards, quality, and the introduction of new tools that help achieve the highest levels of excellence. 
  • Recruiting and training new team members
  • Committed and accountable for team tasks.
  • Lead technical vision of the R&D and participate in product vision discussions
  • Design and develop data API solutions for consumers
  • Design and develop Hadoop jobs to support offline data pipeline
  • Design and develop services for online data flows
  • Drive infrastructure initiatives and implement robust and scalable solutions.
  • Work with developers, architects, product managers and other stakeholders, facilitate and accelerate execution.
  • Drive our services transformation to the public cloud (GCP)

 

Your qualifications are:

  • 2+ years of experience as a team leader of a backend team - must
  • Advanced knowledge in object oriented design and programming concepts - must
  • 6+ years of experience in software development (Java/JVM language) - must
  • Understanding of the challenges in distributed systems and micro-services, Kubernetes, CI/CD - must
  • Ability to learn and adopt new technologies
  • Proven experience in leading projects from design to production
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player
  • Strong analysis and design skills
  • Familiarity with Big Data technologies - advantage.
  • Hadoop/MapReduce, Scala - advantages
  • Experience integrating with Kafka or other distributed queue systems - advantage
  • Experience using Elasticsearch for building metrics in high scale - advantage
