Definitive Logic is looking for a motivated data engineer to join our team supporting the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) and the office of the Chief Data Officer (CDO). This team directly supports the CDO and their requirements around data strategy, data quality, and date completeness as the agency works to identify missing service members from past conflicts.
We are looking for professionals who are excited about data analytics and data science and enjoy solving complex data challenges.
This position will be full-time and is part of a professional consulting team supporting digital transformation of large and complex customer asset management systems. The position provides highly rewarding working environment with numerous training and professional growth opportunities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Guide CDO towards appropriate technologies to enhance the agency's capabilities
- Proposing innovative solutions using agency's existing technologies
- Improve existing processes
- Manage development & support DPAA databases
- Extract production data from source systems; load data into development databases
- Develop database code to profile and cleanse data
- Manage cloud resources
- Support the development of BI dashboards
- Build database structures (schemas, table, views, etc....) to support BI requirements
- Execute Best Practice database deployments into DPAA environment
- Work with stakeholders to identify and document data requirements
- Troubleshooting date issues
- Assist with requirements solicitation from stakeholders
- Manage cloud resources supporting the development systems
- Create and maintain AWS databases
- Build AWS architecture to support development as well as proof of concepts
- Monitor usage and costs
