Responsibilities

The Financial Operations (FO) Analytic Modernization Team (A.K.A. Team Greyhound) is searching for a new team member to assist in accelerating the department’s AWS migration and data modernization efforts.  Initially, the selected candidate’s focus will be 1. Initial build out and standing up of the FO AWS Multi-tenant Analytic Consumption Account and 2. Establishing data pipelines to the wide array of data assets utilized throughout FO.  Once the initial tenancy is operational, focus will shift towards account administrative responsibilities and onboarding of additional tenants.


Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Engaged in every aspect of AWS account management, including planning, architecture and design, development, testing, implementation, and support
  • Experience using deployment automation technologies, preferably Terraform
  • Experience with developing solutions on AWS or other distributed compute platforms
  • Experience with AWS services and technologies such as IAM, EC2, Lambda, S3, Redshift, Cloudwatch, API Gateway, CloudFront, SQS, EMR, Athena, Glue
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to learn and adopt new technologies and languages
  • Critical thinking skills to challenge current thinking and apply right technology to solve problems

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
  • Knowledge of Linux - operating system and shell scripting
  • Familiarity with BI tools and analytic processes and workflows
  • Financial, Accounting, Claims, and Property & Casualty Insurance knowledge
  • Ability to collaborate with other developers, analysts, and leadership within the organization

Office Location: Corporate office located in Bloomington, IL, OR State Farm Hubs:  Richardson, TX; Dunwoody, GA; Phoenix AZ.

REMOTE:  Qualified candidates (outside of hub locations listed below) may be considered for 100% remote work arrangements based on where a candidate currently resides or is currently located.
