The Role
As a Data Modeler at Bitly, you will architect, build, and maintain a data warehouse and  analytics infrastructure in support of our business analytics and data reporting. The  infrastructure created by this team is critical in the team’s mission to support and provide  insights to Bitly. 

Bitly supports every country in the world and every platform imaginable. Our systems are  built to process an enormous amount of data. The Business Intelligence and Analytics  team takes this challenge seriously and aims to create a platform that makes data easily  accessible to answer even the thorniest business questions.

What You'll Do
  • In collaboration with others, architect the data warehouse 
  • Work with various teams to identify the source of truth for data needed for  dashboards and analysis 
  • Analyze source data, understands the needs of dashboards and analysis to design  data models 
  • Create specs to implement data models and maintain metric definitions
  • Understand and document data quality issues 
  • Develop and maintain data warehouse standards 
  • Assist business analysts with questions as needed

Who You Are

  • You have 5+ years of data modeling experience 
  • You are an expert in SQL and have experience with at least one cloud SQL platform preferably BigQuery 
  • You are an expert on profiling data and uncovering data quality issues that impact  analysis and dashboards 
  • You design data models with a deep understanding of how the data will be used by the BI tool and analysis 
  • You look to understand the business processes behind the data 
  • You are familiar with Looker and DBT
  • You can communicate technical concepts and ideas within the BI team and to other parts of the organization. 
  • You take initiative in addressing issues or seeking support from fellow team members. 
  • You’re passionate about using data to add value to business decisions
